Event Schedule
Friday, December 15th
11:00 AM: Spelling Bee
- Athletes take turns trying to spell words out loud.
- There will be rounds. Each round everyone will have a chance to spell a word unless previously eliminated.
- Each contestant must have their hands up in view of camera when getting their word. No cheating.
- Last 3 standing get gold, silver, bronze.
12:00 PM: Trivia
- 50 multiple choice questions.
- Hands up on camera! No cheating!
- Each contestant will hold up their answers at the same time.
- Most points gets gold, silver, bronze.
1:15 PM: Mario Kart
- Custom lobby
- Contestants will pick 8 levels as a group the day before the event.
- Each race awards individual points
- Top three point totals after all 8 races determines the winners
4:00 PM: Xmas Tree Decorating
- Make a video showing off your tree, you must appear in the video and state that it is for the LinkNow Olympics
- It’s okay if your tree was previously decorated before the event, just talk about the design.
- Video must be under 4 minutes
- Any holiday trees are recognized for this event
Monday, December 18th
11:00 AM: Cake Decorating
- 1 representative from each team must create a video showing off their creation.
- Video is either a timelapse of the whole thing OR the video must show ingredients, show ingredients in use, show baking, show decorating, show finished product all with your face in it. No internet cake videos!
- Athletes must provide baking ingredients and supplies.
- Play video for judges one at a time.
- Panel of judges will determine winners after all cake videos have been shown.
12:30 PM: Endurance Challenge
- 3 events: planking, banana pose, and side pose
- The form will be demonstrated before the event starts.
- All contestants will start with their webcams on.
- Everyone has 5 seconds to get comfortable in the position.
- When the event begins, placement will be determined by who drops out last.
- Winner is decided by who placed highest in all three events.
2:00 PM: Wikipedia Rabbit Hole
- Each contestant goes one at a time.
- They will spin two wheels, one with a celebrity and one with a random article.
- They must navigate from the starting page to the ending page using ONLY hyperlinks contained within the articles.
- No CTRL+F, no typing, left clicks only
- Fastest time wins
4:00 PM: Improv Art
- Three wheels will be spun to determine the subject, action, and location of the art.
- All contestants draw at the same time and have 30 minutes to complete it.
- Webcam must be on and pointed at the drawing.
- No digital art or technical assistance. Any other medium is okay (pencil, ink, paint, etc.)
Tuesday, December 19th
11:00 AM: Human Test A-Thon
- Will consist of 7 mini events.
- Contestants will go one at a time, sharing their screens.
- Bottom score from each event will be eliminated.
1:00 PM: Poker
- Each athlete must log into the poker lobby link will be sent in chat.
- Tournament style. No buy backs.
- 5000 chips
- Blinds go up every 10 minutes and they start at 25/50!
- Last 3 standing get gold, silver, bronze.
2:45 PM: Silly Pet Tricks
- 1 representative from each team must create a video showing off their pet doing a trick!
- Video must be no longer than 5 minutes, and be submitted to the Olympic committee 24 hours before the event.
- You must appear in the video so we know its your pet, and you must mention it is for the 2023 Olympics.
- Play video for judges one at a time.
- Panel of judges will determine winners after all pet videos have been shown.
4:00 PM Synchronized Teams-ing
- 2 representatives from each country team up to perform a choreographed dance on teams, or pre-recorded.
- If performing live, must have their song selection to Max in mp3 format 24 hours before the event starts.
- Dance must be between 1 and 5 minutes
- Teams will go one at a time for the judges.
- Panel of judges will determine winners after all dancers have danced.
Wednesday, December 20th
11:00 AM: Dragon’s Den
- Contestants take turns pitching their business idea or invention to Wes, Sonny, and our Lawyer.
- Presentations can be live or pre-recorded, but you will be responsible for answering the judge’ questions live.
- 5 minute total pitch.
- Props, posterboard, prototypes are all allowed.
- Winners will be determined by the judges.
1:00 PM: Charades
- 2 contestants per team.
- Prompts will be supplied to the acting player one at a time.
- Teams have 4 minutes to get as many correct guesses as possible.
- No talking, sounds, or writing by the acting player.
- Each team can use up to 3 skips.
2:00 PM: Fall Guys
- 1-2 contestants per team.
- 3 full rounds in a custom lobby will be played.
- A medal is awarded for the winner of each round, gold for game 1, silver for game 2, bronze for game 3.
- Winning teams of each round will not participate in following rounds.
4:00 PM: Rube Goldberg Machine Inventor
- All athletes must create a Rube Goldberg machine before the event (Google it if you don’t know what that is).
- They must record their machine in action from start to finish. They must appear in the video at some point. No stolen videos from the internet.
- Videos must be between 30 seconds and 5 minutes long.
- Athletes will show video one at a time to the audience/judges.
- Top 3 highest judge scores get gold, silver, bronze.
- You are allowed 1 single finger push if the contraption gets stuck.
Thursday, December 21st
9:15 AM: Geoguessr
- Max will create a party mode and invite all of the contestants.
- 15 prompts total, if a prompt repeats it will be skipped.
- Scores will be added up across all rounds, and the top 3 scores win.
10:45 AM: Trick Shot Challenge
- Live or pre-recorded is acceptable.
- You must be visible in the video making the shot.
- The ball/object cannot leave the frame.
- The object may bounce but cannot roll.
1:00 PM: Virtual Talent Show
- If your country has an athlete that has a talent or silly trick, they can sign up for the virtual talent show event!
- Acts must be less than 5 minutes and must be work appropriate.
- Acts must be able to perform live on webcam or submit a video. If a video, the video must be new and made for this event!
- Acts must sign up 24 hours before the event. No late entries allowed.
- Judges will determine the winners.
1:50 PM: Family Feud
- Companywide event.
- Each team will get the same 3 prompts.
- They will have 10 minutes to debate and submit their answers.
- Having a right answer awards points and having it in the right placement will double the points.
3:00 PM: Ernest Saves Christmas Watch Party
- No winners or losers.
- Just for fun.
- Not mandatory.
- But seriously, come watch Ernest Saves Christmas with us, you’ll be glad you did.
